Absna has a Career Advancement Department that constantly markets the diploma and IHDC in dance certification to more than 20,000 dance and performing arts establishments and potential employers in more than 35 countries world wide. In 2012 CAD will also start to market selected Absna talents to Hollywood, Bollywood, Hong Kong & Taiwan Media Producers.

Absna will bring in 20 foreign instructors from USA, Korea, Russia, China, Philippines, various countries in Europe and south America in 2012 to train its students & teachers. The classes will cover Ballet, Hip Hop, Salsa, Flamenco, Tango, Singing and many more subjects.

Absna has various financial assistance programs that will make sure that no one who is willing to work hard and have good integrity is left behind. If you are keen in dancing and your family is not able to afford the fees, come talk to our counselors. Many of our students are able to self-finance their school fees for their Diploma and IHDC by getting a part time job arranged by our Career Advancement Department in the field related to their study.

Travel The World OJT Program can potentially bring students around the world. Aceki is seeking OJT students to work with Aceki in different parts of the world. You may be in a new cities for a couple of days or up to 6 months. Contact your counselor for more current information.

The International Artist Program (IAP) is designed to groom regular dance students to become international artistes; students are selected based on ability, talent and most importantly, on character, discipline, initiative and how responsible they are.

The IAP students are handpicked from hundreds of dancers in schools and around the world, and put through a rigorous training process to be groomed into an artiste who is professional, mature, humble, responsible, disciplined, helpful, and takes initiative.

Absna will be leading a team of more than 70 dancers to attend the Aceki World Salsa Championships and the Hong Kong Salsa Festival between 27 Feb to 3 Mar 2012. There will be classes with the world famous artistes like Liz Lira from Bolivia 10 times World Champion & choreographer for the top couples on Dancing with the Stars including the 1st place winners Mark & Shawn and Derek & Nicole, and this season’s current leading couple: Derek Hough and Jennifer Grey. She has also assisted in choreographing the group hustle routine for Dancing With the Stars Season 9. In addition, she was the choreographer for Anya and Adechike’s salsa routine on So You Think You Can Dance in 2010. You will be provided with 500 songs, 30 actors, actresses, extras in a 8500 sq-ft premises. Within 48 hours you must produce your 1-hour movie using an iPhone. Including story-boarding, casting, shooting and editing. The theme of the movie will be given on the night itself. You must use 5 pieces of the 500 songs in the movie. There will be up to a maximum of 10 competitors. The challenge will be held on 5-6 May 2012 (Friday midnight to Sunday midnight).

The group is formed by SFDF, Diploma, IHDC students and external professional artistes to spin off ticketed musical comedies. In its effort to provide an all-encompassing learning experience for its students, Absna tries to use the real world as the class room for as many projects as possible. This group meets every Saturday at 3pm to 11pm to work on musical production at Absna. Interested parties who are not Absna student can sign up for theatre short courses.

Aceki has appointed Absna as one of its partners to develop a range of products like new dances such as Lumbia and Jazroc; 120 new Dance Instructional DVD titles; 200 songs and music for the world market. Absna students will be working closely with Aceki to produce these range of commercial products.
